About Weizmann Day SchoolEstablished in 1983, Weizmann Day School is a non-profit, independent, co-educational elementary school (Kindergarten to 6th grade) offering outstanding academic and arts education enriched by Judaic principles and practice. At Weizmann Day School, we are committed to maintaining small class sizes and to differentiated teaching strategies that fit individual students' educational and social development. Students learn core skills in an integrated curriculum that includes reading, writing, literature, mathematics, science, computers, social studies, art, music, physical education, Hebrew language, and Judaic studies. Weekly activities in our buddy program pair our kindergartners with upperclass students. A peer mediation program teaches conflict resolution by and for students, and a special series of interclass events bring students together to encourage cooperative learning. We believe academic achievement goes hand-in-hand with finding ways to improve society. Starting in kindergarten, our students actively apply their education by participating in service learning projects throughout the larger community. Our families come from a wide variety of Jewish and interfaith backgrounds. Regardless of their religious experience at home, all of our students benefit both academically and ethically from a curriculum enriched with Judaic studies. |
