Weizmann Expeditionary Experiential Learning (WEEL)
One of the highlights of our curriculum is our emphasis on experiential learning. At least once per week, our middle school students travel into the community near and far, or participate in programs with visiting faculty, in order to gain real-world experience in a variety of subjects, from astrophysics and oceanography, to drama, history, social justice, and more. In all grades, we make a special point of providing activities and field trips to enrich our students’ experiences and connect them with the community. Expeditions have included visits to the aquarium, science and natural history museums, art museums, plays, universities, and much more! Our students also enjoy overnight trips, some of which have included camping, Astrocamp, Catalina Island, Joshua Tree, Washington, D.C, and many other adventures.
We also offer extra activities through Afterschool Adventures (ASA), our extended care program. Options include activity sign-up, unstructured play, and study hall. Some of the activities include classes in photography, gymnastics, karate, and cooking.
